This project was one of our most challenging yet rewarding ones. Our client wanted a cozy and warm basement floor for her kids to play so we installed the Schluter radiant heat system throughout the basement and covered it with self-leveling cement. We prepped the subfloor with Bona moisture barrier primer and then installed Graff Brothers rift and quarter white oak throughout the basement using Bona adhesive. After the floor was installed, the architect provided a sketch of how he would like the stairs to look, and we brought his drawing to life. When we completed the installation, we sanded the floors using the Bona power drive, trowel filled the entire floor with matching wood filler, finished sanding, water popped the floor, then proceeded with Duraseal Early American stain and top coated with Bona Traffic HD. We also sand and finish floating shelves and a pine door to match the color of the floor.
